COVID-19 Update, May 6, 2020
Hoping that this post finds our families well! This is an abbreviated update. Please see complete update posted on Facebook, Instagram and MyChart sent today May 6, 2020. We are carefully and thoughtfully expanding our in-office services as of today.
What In-Person Services Will We Provide In Our Office?
- We will continue to provide newborn visits for the initial newborn checkup and follow-up feeding and weight checks as needed.
- We will continue to provide infant/toddler well child visits that require vaccines. This generally includes the 2-, 4-, 6-, 9-,12-, 15-, and 18-month visits.
- We are now recommending that children come to the office for 4-year-old, 5-year-old,11-year-old, 16-year-old, and pre-college well child visits when vaccines are typically given.
- We are now recommending that patients come to the office for symptoms that may require antibiotic treatment after proper evaluation, such as sore throats, earaches, and urinary symptoms.
We will continue to segregate in-office well visits (am) and sick visits (pm) to the extent possible. We will also continue to ask you to call in when you reach the parking lot so that we can bring you directly to the exam room when we are ready for you. We will not be using the waiting room.
Sick Visits and all other Well Visits will be accomplished as Telehealth Visits whenever possible.
How can you help?
- Parents and patients (who are old enough and can tolerate it) must wear their own masks to appointments. Because of shortages in PPE we can only provide masks to patients experiencing respiratory symptoms.
- One parent only to accompany the patient to the exam room when possible.
- Please continue to be patient with us, we appreciate it so much. Every day is full of change and is a new adventure for us in this COVID-19 world and we are working with a skeleton crew to minimize our exposure to each other.
- Parents and patients 13 and older will need MyChart accounts to have a Telehealth Visit. Our receptionists will be happy to assist you during business hours with a login. Please be proactive and set up an account now so that care can be expedient if it becomes necessary.
